Buy A Brick for charity!

I am supported by a charity called Daisy Chain. I have mentioned it before, but for those who don't know, they are building a specialist respite and support centre for children with autism and their families in the North East. We are very lucky to have this on our doorstep, and obviously I am keen to see them complete the building work so that it benefits more people.

The latest big campaign was launched on 16th January, 4 years to the day since our founder Lesley Hanson passed away following a routine operation. She left her husband, daughter and young son, who has autism. Her dream was this special place and by some miracle it happened.

What it entails is basically 'buying' a brick towards the day centre. A donation of £5 buys a brick, then there are other options, including an engraved message which you could dedicate with a message for £50, and we are hoping that corporate supporters will buy an advertising plaque for £1000.

We need to raise another £100,000 to complete the building work and have the building fitted with specialist equipment, fixtures and fittings. If you would like to know more please have a look around their website:

I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have, or you can contact the charity via their website.

Thank you

Cheers Mands, will go and do it now.
This year dh sent out email cards instead of real ones and explained that we were donating to the TSA this year and was really touched by how many people said they would like to make a donation in reply. I was gobsmacked!

So we are trying to spread a bit around too even if in small amounts

Mands, is there an option to donate smaller amounts? Just thinking that some (me for instance at this moment in time) might not be able to afford a fiver, but could afford to pay a smaller donation...I mean, it all adds up dunnit? x

Weblet, Lesley was a very special person, how she started this whole thing I'll never know, but I do know that her spirit is around that farm and we will never lose sight of her dream For someone to simply have a dream then build a charity up from literally nothing at all takes a very tenacious, dedicated and caring person and she was all of those things.
