Tower block of commons. I am watching this and I'm not sure , the mp's seem to be coming across really badly but then so are some of the 'normal' people.

Yes sort of watching, did that old bloke m.p really just say that knowing grocery prices was women's work?

christ - i want to personally throw Austin Mitchell through the window of a flat on the top floor of the fucking tower block. Arrogant nasty twat he is
Tenacious B 21:48 8/2
he's been like that all the way through but did you see the bit where the woman came under budget on her shopping so went and spent £40 on cigs? It was so judgemental of her and was made to make her look bad.
Pimmsoclock 21:51 8/2
£150 to spend on food a week is loads though. To me it is anyway!
minx 21:52 8/2
£150? Plenty! IMO
hobbes 21:52 8/2
Austin Mitchell is a lazy old toad living in the wrong era.
Cauli-Wolf 21:52 8/2
I know that red and white block in barking. My friend works for the cpt and has to go to that general area a lot. She will NOT go alone.
PerfectBabyGirl 21:53 8/2
I am watching, and watched last week. I think its an interesting programme but over-edited to provoke responses.
Pimmsoclock 21:54 8/2
Ch4 always do that though PBG. Its expected.
minx 21:54 8/2
I agree PBG.
Tenacious B 21:55 8/2
I thought the £150 was a lot too, but they have lots of little kids so I suppose nappies etc must be loads.
Pimmsoclock 21:57 8/2
Tenb I have £130 a week but that has to cover food, diesal and anything else that may come up..IE gifts/shoes/school trips etc. She buys nappies for two children so thats £4 more than me a week.
World of Sab 21:57 8/2
i think £150 is loads I think the Tory boy is coming across the best to be honest - he's coming across as pretty honest (compared to the rest of them tbh)
PerfectBabyGirl 21:57 8/2
That MP is very very brave!
lurvehandle 21:58 8/2
I'm on a similar budget to pimms (for 8 of us). Mad Nad reminds me of "seepage" from TittyTittyBangBamg.
PerfectBabyGirl 21:59 8/2
I agree WOS - he seems to genuinely care about the family he is placed with. He was good last week babysitting an 8 week old baby and going clubbing with the mum the next night!
World of Sab 22:02 8/2
He's properly thrown himself into it hasnt he? Trying to see how life is REALLY like. The blonde lady with the moneyed bra I do NOT like. Patronising cow!
PerfectBabyGirl 22:04 8/2
I know her eyes say it all. She was practically backing out of the door. I do wonder how that woman she is placed with affords her nails done when she cant afford anything else!
Pimmsoclock 22:05 8/2
WOS she could patronise me all she wanted if she gave me some cash
World of Sab 22:09 8/2
| It is interesting looking at different families on benefits, and what they achieve with similar amounts of money though. I do appreciate that people's circumstances must be so so different, and I think I am starting to also sound patronising and I don't mean to.
